Region sheet G-02
Hungary is the nearest of our regions and the only one we reach by rail and road alone. Its springs feed the bath palaces of Budapest and a lake at Hévíz that stays warm through the autumn.
When to go
Budapest is good in any month, though July and August are hot in the city. Hévíz is best from April to October, when the lilies are out and the evenings are warm enough to sit by the water.
How it reads by season
| Season | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Winter | Budapest outdoor pools steaming in the cold |
| Spring | Both protocols run; mild and green |
| Summer | Lilies on Hévíz; city heat in Budapest |
| Autumn | Quiet baths, warm lake water |
Both Hungarian protocols suit a first trip with us. They are short, near and gentle, and you can be home by the evening of the last day.
